Displasia in shepard mix; natural alternatives;

My 4 year old shepard mix was just diagnosed with hip displasia, They want to medicate her everyday and I really don't want to do that. I have her on  glucosamine liquid, which has seemed to help quite a bit. She is very active and loves to play daily should we not let her run and play Frisbee, ball, etc ??? And what are the long term effects of giving Metacam, and Tramadol daily??? Should we consider this or not.  Thank you so much. Theresa

Hi Theresa,  Sure, I would avoid the Metacam for a few more years, if possible.  Also, the Tramadol is fine in small dosages when needed for pain.  It would be better to go Natural and hold off on the strong stuff - IF possible.

Limited activity is a plus - Leash walking is the way to go with a dog like this...
