4yr shih tuz with chronic diarrhea with blood

QUESTION: My shih tzu since we have had him has had diarrhea with blood. He has rec'd erodible to the point where he was toxic,spent three days and nights in hospital with iv fluids. He couldn't stand walk wouldn't eat (he has never eaten). I am sooo tired of seeing him with the diarrhea and know that he is tired of it too. He doesn't eat any dog food but Nature's Recipe farmstand canned but that doesn't help with diarrhea. He is presently taking Baytril,pro pectalin x2 (2cc).He will run and play but those sudden colon urges are horrendous.Vet says biopsies,specialists...We have done blood work with liver enzymes at 804 as of late, he was tested for Addisons which turned to lean toward Cushings which the vet doesn't agree with.  I really need help because as a human with IBS I can deal but this pup is stressing, is scared of thunderstorms which we have been having for several wks, has finally adjusted to rain and doesn't shake anymore.  Help me please.  I am DESPARATE at this point and frantic as I don't want to lose him but...

ANSWER: Patty, I sure do understand this sad situation!  I would love to help you two!  All the things that I refer to are all natural and safe.

1.  Mix the Nature's recipe with some SoJO grain free dog food mix -

QUESTION: Thank you for your quick response.  I guess I failed to mention that Andy will not eat any dog food with the exception of the canned Nature's Variety. I am giving him 1/8 tsp of benefiber each morning also. He wont' eat yogurt,and am willing to try the Flora Force. Gosh why are things so expensive? HM? Could I use the wafers with the benefiber? Just use the metamucil? I really appreciate your help

As far as the benefiber, I would use the metamucil non flavored powder or the wafer cookes/.
( the Benefiber is ok.... I like the cookie/wafers better)
