Alternatives to Clavamox for an abscess

Question

Heal Me
My sweet little cat had an abscess on the top of his head that erupted. The vet shaved his head and drained out all the puss. He returned home a little confused after the experience, but he seems to be feeling so much better over the last six hours. His sore is not tender to touch anymore. I have been given cleansing wipes and animax ointment to put on the open wound twice a day.

I have also been given a 20 Calvamox tablets for the next ten days.

They seem so big for my little cat's mouth, and I must admit the thought of trying to force them down his throat twice a day is very daunting.

I also keep reading about other cats vomiting and having stomach upsets from Clavamox.

I always look for natural solutions for my own health, and am wondering if there are any natural alternatives to antibiotics for my kitty?

Thank you for your help.

Sure little cat kid!  Continue to use the ointment and clean daily.
You can place him on the NuVET feline formula - this is a skin healer and it will help prevent future problems.
This is holistic and very safe:  Not sold in stores - thru Holistic vets and the manufacturer.

Look for the Feline NuVET Plus powder - mix into his food 2 x per day - JUST take the daily dosage and split it in two...( this is a powder that has almost no taste....)
