cat with sensitive stomach

Question
12 year old cat was throwing up food a lot--diagnosed with sensitive stomach-blood tests ok--stopped throwing up every day with Science Diet I.D. prescription in wet canned or water-soaked dry--throws up plain dry. Now occasional throwing up binges seem helped by hairball medicine (though she is shorthair and just throws up a little fur). Problem: Even on I.D. diet, I have to feed her little bits at a time--can't put out dry food and just leave it, so several times daily I dole out her food tablespoon by tablespoon. Any suggestions for foods that would soothe her stomach and/or to fatten her up-she weighs about 9 pounds but doesn't have a fat layer-vet wished she had a little more fat but no solution.

Answer
I would suggest feeding your cat a natural diet of fish, chicken soaked in olive oil  and mixed with carrot and ground oatmeal etc. Mix all foods with warm water and if necessary blend it in a blender. adding oils to her diet like olive oil or salmon oil any furball issues will be reslved.
Cats should not really have dry foods, they desert animals as such they require protein and water daily.
Regarding dry foods cats are desert animals as such they should not have a dry diet, cats require higher percentage of quality proteins and they can only be found in quality foods that do not contain flour or grains like those in dry items.Salmon and fish will allow the cat some cognitive protection also , against dementia etc. It should also allow grooming better as it feeds the coat skin and nails etc.
Wishing you and puss  a wonderful next 12 years
