Hi Marie,
I have 2 dogs that are a year and 4 mos old. They are sisters from the same litter. Dob/Rot/Lab mix. Dad was a purebreed rot and Mom was a lab/dob mix. We have them on large breed Nature's recipe and every night split a can of wet salmon food btwn them. They're healthy, have a clean bill of health from the vet. I'm just wondering if this is the best food for them. We've looked at Canadae, gold something,timberwolf, and gone to a bunch of holistic food stores..but it seems that even the "grain free" food doesn't have Glucosamin and chrondrine which we have been told they need b/c of their breed. My only concern w/ them is that lately they are itching a lot adn they do tend to sneeze a lot...especially when I come downstairs after just putting on perfume. Someone said they might be allergic to the grains. It seems the grain free doesn't have the glucosomine and chrondrine though? What do you think?

I understand your concern. The food you have them on is OK...not bad but not too great. YOUR concern for the glucosomine and chrondrine is important but foods do not have enough in them. Any dog food that adds any supplements is fooling the clients about the quality. ONCE the food is cooked the process of heating will lessen the effect and quality of the added supplements. Most of the time we do ask that pet owners supplement with a good quality program.
So, even the BEST of pet foods have a lack of strong and quality supplements. Sorry.
This is what I would Like for your kids:
How about mixing the GRAIN FREE Wellness Core OR Innova EVO with your Nature's Recipe x 3 weeks. ( do a 50/50 mix)- After the 3 weeks you can go 100% to the grain free dog food. YOU should be able to find Wellness Core or Innova Evo at your local pet store.
YOU will feed less of this because it is grain free. Also, the poops will be much smaller, A PLUS for you...right?
