Question
I am looking for an alternative to the EXPENSIVE anti-inflammatory pain meds that vets sell by XR only. I am open to any suggestions as long as it works fast and is highly affective.

Can you give dogs human anti-inflammatories

Thank you

Answer
HI Brett,
firstly - there is NO quick fix in natural therapies as they do not just cover up the problem, but actually get to the root of the cause.  Natural therapies are very effective, but you need to be committed to a 3-6 month regime with your dog.
I would not recommend human grade drugs EVER for animals.  This can be extremely dangerous, cause liver and kidney damage and be fatal.
Canine Herbalist Robert McDowell does have an anti-inflammatory remedy that works really well.  You may want to start off on double dose for about 2 weeks, then go back to the recommended dose.  Herbal remedies are also dangerous in excess amounts, so don't think that more is better.  This too can lead to liver and kidney problems.  The bottles come in 100ml sizes and cost about $60.  One bottle will last you about 10 weeks.  You may need to keep this up for at least 6 months, or possibly longer depending on the depth of the problem.
Roberts site is:  www.herbal-remedies.com
Go to "treatments for Dogs" and then Anti-Inflammatory mix.

I hope this is helpful.
Silva.
