HELLO,

  I HAVE A TWO YEAR OLD ROTT PUPPY THAT I CAN NOT GET TO GAIN WEIGHT. HE IS SKIN AND BONES HE EATS ALL THE TIME BUT DON'T GAIN THE WEIGHT. I HAVE WORMED HIM TWICE. DO YOU HAVE ANY CLUE WHAT ELSE MIGHT BE WRONG WITH HIM?

Hello Tara, Sure, I would be glad to help you and your Rottie.
Glad to see you have wormed this kid a few times.  I have some suggestions for you:
( Please see your vet for some blood work on this Rottie )

Let's put some weight on this kid:
Can you home cook some of this?  Doggie Meatballs:  Add this to his current food each day - please give 1-2 meatballs at each meal.
( on top of the dry dog food )

DOG MEATBALLS-

Dog Dog Food Recipe by Michele, provided to her by her vet.
FREEZE and take out what you need daily:

Ground chicken 1 lb
Ground beef   1 lb
4% small curd cottage cheese ( 1 1/2 cups)
2 cups quaker oats soaked in low sodium chicken broth
peas 1/2 cup
string beans  1/2 cup
2 tablespoons salmon or fish oil (health food store or break open capsules from grocery store)
2 eggs
2 boiled yams or sweet potatoes -this is great protein and helps keep everything moist.


Mix together and make into meatballs the size of your dogs portion. Bake them at 350 until they are completely done.

Freeze into bags and warm up in microwave until warm and serve. They should love it and it is all digested so there is very little waste and smell.
