Question
Hi we hope you may be able to assist us ?
Our 23 month old King Charles Cavalier Cross  Poodle /silkie
has always been a fussy eater but for the past two weeks she has had spasmotic vomitng. The Vet suspected  Pacreatitis but bloood tests revealed dangerously high levels of kidney enzymes- up around  the 600 mark.
An ultrasound showed that her kidneys have never developed, and they hardly appeared at all.
Virtually the Vet said that nothing can be done for her , that was last Monday,
Since then we have changed her diet to mainly chicken & vegetables with plenty of water.
She is very tired and slow but does not appear to be in any pain , we are desperate & will  not give up ! CAN YOU HELP PLEASE as we feel that we need to act now and/or find a herbal course of action or herbal/natural approach soon ,
Regards Dennis & Carol

Answer
Dear Dennis and Carol - that is terrible news and I understand you doing all in your power to help your little girl.
My first thought is to purchase the Kidney Weakness herbal blend from Robert McDowell -
http://www.herbal-treatments.com

This blend helps to repair and rebuild kidneys that are suffering.  You may want to administer this at double dose for the first few months (check with Robert).

Secondly, I would totally take her off all commercial dog food.  Fresh, raw foods - meats (rabbit, free-range chicken) and fresh raw grated fruits and veggies are ideal.

Thirdly - there is a Canadian site that specializes in canine kidney disease: http://www.caninekidneyhealth.com

Make sure she has fresh water on hand and is kept comfortable at all times.  You may also want to make her some tea from dried St Mary's Thistle (Milk Thistle) and Dandelion root and Red Clover blossoms.  Serve the tea cooled.  If she wont drink it then add a few tablespoons worth to her meals.
You may also want to buy some organic Spirulina to give her twice per day or a superfood such as VitalGreens.
Do let me know if you would like any further information.
With thanks,
Silva.
