hair lost in dog

My English Bulldog showed some hair lost on his side this winter. We left for Flordia with him & returned after a 2 Mons. stay. He has lost most of the hair on both sides of his body. There is no redness or itching. What doyou think we should do?

I think you really need to go to a vet and get a blood test.  There are just so many reasons why he could have lost fur.  From simple things such as a mite infestation, to an emotional upset, allergy to food, or something far more serious such as a thyroid dysfunction or cushings disease.
Once you have a diagnosis, then you can look at the treatment options available and choose a natural path is you wish.
