She is very healthy and active otherwise.Any information would be very helpful! Thank-you.

Answer
Hello Judy -

I am sorry to hear that your pet is experiencing this in her golden years of life. Given her age, there is not much that I can fully recommend.

I would be cautious too, at her age, surgery is very stressful and can cause other problems within her system. I am quite surprised your vet would operate on her twice within 8 months with her being 18.

Fibroid tumors are common in female pets and animals and can regrow after surgery. A good healthy diet is the best way to go here. Try putting her on an all natural food blend like Nutro. All natural foods do not contain preservatives, chemicals, by-products or fillers. Most can be found in local pet food stores and are less expensive than prescription blends.

A note on prescritpion blend foods - Hill's Science Diet has been known to cause kidney stones and kidney ailments in pets that have been ingesting this brand for a while. Please look into this for your own pets health. I have many clients who are very upset with this food brand because of the outcome of their pet. Once kidney problems occur, there is not turning back and diet becomes more of a problem.

I make a special formula for pets that suffer from varying cancers that has worked very well in building stronger immunity. It is a gentle blend of herbs in an apple cider vinegar base to detox, tone and strengthen the whole body system. This tonic is given 3 times per day at 10 drops per 20 pounds of pets weight. I will leave my contact information at the bottom of this response if you are interested in more information about this remedy.

The herb Chaste Tree Berry (Vitex) is used among females to help with fibroid tumors and tumor growth. It has worked very well and since your cat is in her geriatric phase of life it would not interfere with her estrus cycle. Chaste Tree has been long used for female concens and benefits the female body all around.

I hope this information has helped you and your pet.
