Skin issue with Cat

Hello,

My cat seems to have dandruff or something like it on his lower back.  When I scratch it he LOVES it.  Little white flakes come off his fur.  Is there something I can do at home to treat it?  Or do I need to bring him in?  Could it be something more serious than Dandruff?

It's probably dandruff... but it could be mange... I would try an herbal product like this: http://www.nativeremedies.com/petalive/skin-coat-tonic-dog-cat-skin-irritations.... first. if that doesn't clear it up, it could be mange or it may be an allergy of some kind.
