Questionhello, my dog is very sensitive to food change. He had diarhoea for past 2
days, it seemed better today, but now be has blood in his poop - and he is
back to diarrhoea. He usually takes eukanuba for Labrador retrievers, chicken
and rice I had to change to eukanuba lamb and rice.
For past couple of days I gave him
Just chicken - boiled and rice.
He has a very very sensitive tummy and cannot take antibiotics. Can you
recommend any food based natural solution? He is also looking pale.
Really appreciate any guidance you can provide. I am very worried
Thanks raushni
AnswerI don't think antibiotics would be the answer in this situation anyway but in the future if you do need something to kill bacteria, viruses or fungus try colloidal silver.
The most common cause of diarrhea and bloody stools is worms. Testing for worms is not 100% so I'd try a good wormer for hook worms first.
I'm a firm believer in feeding dogs what is natural for them. That means feeding a meat diet, which is what he would eat in the wild. Kibble is full of grains which should not be fed to dogs ever, and do cause problems in the stomach. Try giving him chicken raw and skipping the rice. For his size a leg quarter would be just right. If after a few days you still see blood in the stool please see a vet, especially a holistic one if possible.
I'm really not sure what you mean about looking pale. Can you tell me more about this?
Meanwhile, read up a bit on raw feeding.
