Question
Hi Marie,

I have a 8yr old Bully that has poultry allergies, tear stains and few fleas. I know that means there are many more hiding (fleas). He is on a grain free food, TOTW Lamb and gets benadryl 2x a day. He also has a torn ACL that he is being treated with deramax and is not a candidate for surgery yet. He gets blood work done every 6 months to check the liver. I would like to get him off of the duramax and try NuVet, are they all chicken flavor but am hesitant because of the poultry allergy? He has been on flea prevention until the last 6 months, he had a bad reaction to the last dose of trifexis. I have some Diatomaceous Earth (organic)and started using on his food and the tear stains are worse.I am not sure where to go from here. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi Julie ; The D.E. should not be placed in the food unless you wanted to use it as Wormer ;  I mainly use the D.E. powder on the skin/ dusting to aide in flea control:

For the NuJOINT Plus ( made by NuVET)  this would be fine for your Bully;  Very little liver flavor is added to the product :  Very safe :  NO Drugs -  All Natural :
SEE here:  http://www.bulldogvitamin.com/2012/10/arthritis-in-your-canine-stiff-legs.html

The NuVET plus product has very little chicken liver for flavoring ;  HELPFUL to reduce tear stains;  It takes about 30-60 days to lessen the tear stains and wrinkle stains;
Make sure you are also feeding a quality food:
