Question
QUESTION: Hi there, I have a 2 year old full bred Collie, the past 2 weeks, she has been SCRATCHING herself to the point of bleeding, she will also lick her paws to the point of seeing pink. She looks like she is malnourished. She eats ok, and drinks plenty of water, we have checked her for fleas thank god, have not spotted any!! She seems to be in a trans (spell) when she is lickign her paws. Sometimes her eyes are closed and she seems like totally out of it. The itching has left red spots all over her body. I am quite frightened at even taking her anywhere, cause she does look like she is not being taken care . She is a well loved, nice natured girl. Please do help!!

ANSWER: Hi Cindy - your gal is allergic to food or her environment...

What have you been feeding her ( brand and flavor)?

Also, what do you use so she doesn't get fleas?
Are there many fleas around your area?  Sometimes just one flea bite can drive a dog's SKIN crazy...

It sounds more like a food allergy to my..

Please give me more info...I KNOW that I CAN help you...

Thanks

QUESTION: WE have been using the same food, Kibbles and bits homestyle. She appears to eat her food without issues, so not sure if that is the problem. We use a standard flea collar. Never had any issues in the past, nothing has changed in the environment. This is just crazy I feel so bad for her!! The only thing different that I can think of, is we did get a new dog bed for her, she had an accident and we replaced the inside with some batting that is used to re-upholster chairs. This itching just kind of came out of no-where, My husband and I were gone for 1 week in May and then 1 week in September, I thought perhaps she had some sort of anxiety issue, but the kids were home,so it's not like she was left alone. WE have 2 adult kids living at home and 2 under 14. She appears to be afraid of many loud noises, but this isn't anything new either. She cowers in the corner when there is a thunderstorm, or fireworks going off. She also seems to shake if the kids are hollering at eachother, but again, this is nothing new.

sure would appreciate any help!! Can you recommend any sort of medicine I can give her? Or do you think I should take her in?
Thanks much

Answer
Ok Cindy - Can you take that dog bed away and just give her a nice blanket to lay on?  I am not sure if it is the dog bed?????
Next, let's make a few changes and see if we can help.

The food you are feeding is not the greatest...Too many fillers....
How about some Solid Gold Brand or Wellness Formula Brand - they are better quality and you can find them at a local pet store.

Next, Add some Salmon oil to her food each day - Give two teaspoons of pure salmon oil and mix it in the food......OH, so good for her skin and coat.

Now, this Immune System booster and Skin healer is a must:
Take the 60 Day trial ....If they can't help you the Will refund your money...NO risk and all Natural:

Also, many of my clients take NuVET - Excellent and Guaranteed to get rid of hot spots and skin problems.
here is the link to my nuvet site and my doggie hotel...
