distemper shots

Question
Hi!
It has been 3 years since my cat has had him distemper shots.  I am more into alternative now and wonder if it is necessary to have him get this shot again especially since he is an indoor cat and the only one I have.
Thanks for your help,
Monica

Answer
The answer is, as I'm sure you expected, NO. It is not only unnecessary, but also not recommended. It may interest you to know that in the vet shot protocol that you don't see, it states that for cats, vaccinations should be given in the hind leg or the tail; preferably the tail, because WHEN (note: not IF, WHEN!) a cancer tumor appears the tail can be amputated! I learned this from one of the many veterinary news letters that I subscribe to and read regularly. There is so much more information out there now about the dangers of annual vaccines. Your instincts to go holistic are well founded.

Hope this helps. Feel free to contact me personally if you have any other questions.
