Question
Our 9 year old cat, Callie is very ill. She has been to the vet 3 times in the last week. Callie used to be 12 lbs. Two weeks ago she began breathing harder and seemed thinner when we took her in to the vet she weighed only 9 lbs they checked all kinds of things and can't find anything wrong with her. Even after blood tests, x-rays with and without barium. They gave us two different types of prescription cat food and steroids hoping that would help. Then she started vomiting. Today she weighs 7 lbs. she is skin and bones but her belly looks bigger. The vet changed her food again but we still have to hand feed her to get her to eat. She won't drink much either. Callie is so weak that she just lays around all day. When she trys to get up and walk, she kind of sways like she is dizzy then lays back down. The vet did say she looked constipated but that is it. We are afraid our kitty is going to die. The next closest vet is 300 miles away. Please Please help us. Is there anything we can do??

Answer
I'm sorry this took me so long to get back to , but I have been having computer issues an just now got your message.

Unfortunately, there is not much that I can tell you either and it sounds as if they have done just about all of the diagnostics they had available. If you are hand feeding her, try blending up some raw chicken, raw organ meats, raw veggies and fruits (especially laxative type fruits and veggies. You may also want to feed her some liquefied Metamucil or other natural laxative.
The raw will help both the constipation and her immune system.  If you pull her through this, you will want to keep her on a raw food diet.

This is not what you want to hear, but if your kitty does pass on, please know that there was nothing more that you could have done for her, and that it was her time.

The energy of a beloved pet, just like the energy of the people that we love, is attached to us and with us always. Our companion animals are in our lives for a rather short time comparatively, but this is because of the very important role they play in our own spiritual evolution.  They come to us for the period of time in our lives that we need that particular energetic emotional support that helps us through a time of growth, a lesson we need to learn, etc. When that period of time is ended, their soul leaves us on this physical plane, but remains attached to our soul. At some future time, that dear soul will return to us in another physical form and at the frequency that we need for that phase of our evolution. You will see her again, you may just not recognize her.
