Chihuahua Coat Problem

Question

Belle
I have a female chihuahua named Belle. She will be one February the 7th 2009. She gave birth to a litter of five on November 8th 2008. She is standard size, ten pounds. Not overweight at all. She is a blue chihuahua. Since weaning the puppies her fur is very thin. Our vet said she would have a one in five chance in having blue puppies. Two girls were blue, one girl white with blue spots, one was blue black and the other boy was carmel and blue. My husband jokes that she gave all her blue hairs to the puppies. What is the real reason her hair is so thin and how can we help her.

Answer
Hi Amanda, Your little Belle may have a hormone imbalance due to her litter.  I would have your vet keep an eye on her.  They may want to do some blood work and check her Thyroid levels.

A great vitamin for your Chi is NuVET Plus -
