QuestionI am having a tough time finding the right diet for Monkey. Right now she is eating Evo Kibble Turnkey/Chicken.
Do you think that there is too much protein in her diet. She had calcium oxalate stones in her bladder which were surgically removed. She is drinking a lot more water since I switched her food. I am concerned the protein is too high though. I don't like Science Diet. If this food is no good, can you recommend another food. There is 32% crude protein for a 13/2 lb bag. I also have a 17 year old mini schnauzer that almost drowned a a month ago. She needed to be hospitalized for aspiration pneumonia. The doctors found through x rays that she has a mass on each lung. The mass seems to be small at this point, however, her breathing seems to be labored. She is very skinny, hardly can walk ( I am giving her glaucosomine) and now doesn't have much of an appetite. I have to hand feed her. She is taking endacard for her heart. She has a heart murmur. I do not want to put her down. I just can't bring myself to do so. I don't know what to do.
AnswerHi Mindy - I remember you and Monkey. I am wondering if you want to take this to the other expert here... on the alternatives for pets.
She may be able to help better than I. I had felt that the Evo Kibble would be fine if you could not cook homemade diets. She may have some other ideas about the 32% protein.
As for your Elderly gal, I am so sorry for you two.
Go her and give more details - OK
