Dogs/Chocolate

Hello, Yesterday (3/10), My 70lb german shepard ate a few chocolate chip cookies.  She did not have a rapid heart rate or fast breathing.  This morning I found that she may have had a little bit of diarrhea, but not fully. She also had a little bit of gas.  I wanted to know if this is a symptom of eating chocolate and if I need to take her to the vet.  Like I said , she does not have a fast heart rate or breathing, it was just the one instance of a little bit of diarrhea. Please let me know.

This is nothing to worry about. The loose bowel movement was due to the imbalance in her system from the chocolate chip cookies. As long as her breathing was fine and she did not have severe diarrhea, there is nothing to worry about.

Chocolate is toxic to dogs, but only in very large amounts. A few choclate chip cookies will not hurt your pet, however, it was a pretty tasty treat!
