Flakey dry itchy pink skin ; Nuvet for allergies; Nuvet makes a powder;

Question
I read where another Shih Tzu owner was having skin prolems with their dog.  I also have the same problem.  My dog is also loosing hair around the muzzle.  You told this preson to give the dog NuVet wafers.  Is there anything else?  My dog if very picky and will not eat alot of different things.  I would like to put him on something that will help the rash is getting worse.  His ears are doing ok as long as I keep on top of them cleaning them and puting a topical cream on them. Can you help?

Hi Lola, Just about anything I tell you to give your baby will need to be given BY MOUTH... My maltese won't take her NuVET anymore --- Don't know why???  She must have figured it is GOOD for HER.
Now we have to pill her : NO big DEAL as many dogs will not take the meds or vitamins and need to be pilled.

So, I suggest you try the NuVET Allergy Wafers and see if she will take them - If not, you can break the wafer up and pill her-  If you don't  know how to pill a dog - there are a bunch of Videos on the internet for free:  just do a search on " pilling a pet"

NuVET does make a powder for picky pets: you may want to just buy the NuVET powder and mix that into some YUM YUM good WET dog food - and hide it?????

Also, Some Vitamin E ( just 1) of a 50IU per day will be good for your baby : again, you may need to hide this in food or you sometimes can find Vit E fluid/ but it doesn't taste good so YOU still have to HIDE it.
