Bulldog paw issue!

Question
Hi Susan,

I have a 3 years english bulldog. She is doing good, however she has a kind of yeast, wich looks like some type of wax and smells  bad, inside her paws, between her toes and besides her nose. I have been cleaning her paws twice a day and the moisture is still there. Right now she is eating a grain free food, taking probiotics, Nuvet Plus, fish oil and the yeast doesn't go away. I have tried medicate wipes, tea tree oil, vinegar and different types of cream that vets have prescribed. The only thing that worked was when she took prednisone, but I don't want to give that to her again.
Other than that she is very healthy and her skin looks great.

What would you suggest? Are there any type of herb or supplement that could help her?

Thank you very much for your help,

Rodrigo

Answer
Hello Rodrigo,
It appears that you are doing everything right.  I know how frustrating that can be. I've put on my thinking cap and here is what I have come up with so far.
1)Does ANYTHING that is going into your dog's mouth contain: wheat, corn, soy, dairy or beef? That includes snacks, supplements, chewable heartworm prevention, the occasional pizza crust, ANYTHING!!!  If so, ELIMINATE IT IMMEDIATELY! In over 20 years of working with skin issues,I have found that these are the main cause of just about every skin issue there is. It doesn't even have to be something that is fed a lot of or even every day, so check EVERYTHING.  If you aren't sure, get rid of it anyway and substitute something that definitely doesn't. If you have any questions, call me (727)327-2356.

2)We have two products available that would probably help out a great deal; Agrimax and Critter Oil. Again, if you are interested, call me. I would have to write a book here to explain them, but if you go to www.critteroil.com you can find out more as well. Especially take a look at the page on the wolf. That was a staff infection, but the combination would work similarly on fungus and yeast.

3)Eliminate any and all toxins from his system: no more vaccines, spot on the back or internal flea products, vet type heartworm medication(there are homeopathics for this), etc.

4) If this started within about 6-8 months after he had a vaccine(s), you may also want to treat for vaccinosis. One such treatment using homeopathy is a combination of thuja and detox. For more specifics, contact Dr Gerald Wessner 352-245-2025.

That is about it. Oh yes, if you are using plastic food and/or water bowls, switch to stainless.

Take care, and keep me posted.
Sue
