Clavamox side effects in Feline;

Question
My 15 yo cat wouldn't eat for a few days and I took her in.  The vet couldn't find anything wrong and gave her an appetite stimulant. It was a quick fix but I took her to another vet that found three abcessed teeth and extracted them. He ran an extensive blood panel which was normal. He put her on Clavamox.  After the second day she stopped eating again. Let me stress that she wants to eat but won't. He then gave her a shot and took her off the Clavamox because loss of appetite is a common side effect. She started eating. Two days later she started shaking her head and her right ear turned red. Back we went, there was no infection, mites, etc just a lot of ear wax. He administered drops and sent her home. Once again started eating.  Two days later, stopped eating (wants to eat but won't) I took her back again Thursday 10/7 and he he took x-rays revealing another abcess. He cleaned it out under light sedation and sent me home with the Clavamax again. She willingly ate yesterday but today is refusing all food.  I think the Clavamax is making her nauseated. She is getting quite thin. I don't want her to starve to death waiting for the course of antibiotics to term. Should I discontinue the Clavamox until I can get her in on Monday? I am going to feed her KMR tonight with an eyedropper.  She is lucid, there is no sign of drooling, vomiting, diarrhea, pus, blood, or anything and she walks around the yard.  She drinks water. She definitely wants to feel good.Thank you for your time and consideration.

Answer
Sandy, Please take her into the ER vet this weekend and ask for Fluids.  They will give her a  needle of fluids --- SC not IV..
It runs in about 15 mintues and then you can bring her home.
Also, ask for a shot of PCN - antibiotic and to get OFF of the oral Clavamox...
Please don't wait until monday....

BEST wishes
