Question
My dog is eight this and for the past few months, he's been having swelling under his feet and between his toes.  I had taken him to the vet more than once and they have confirmed that it was from a skin irritation which he got genetically.  And with the medication given me to treat for it has not fully healed it. It has been a couple of months since receiving treatment but still no effect.  I have only recently realised that my GSD has never had his toenails cut.  They are now very long, and I can see he is struggling to walk.  Please can you help me, I am confused on the fact that the vets have indicated it's his skin irritation but was originally formed on his lower back but is now healed, or is what I've just noticed, it could be the effect from his long toe nails?

Muchly appreciated
