Question
QUESTION: My 2 year old English Bulldog has been diagnosed with "seasonal" allergies by the vet.  She has had shots of steroids and was on Clavamox upon two visits to the Emergency Room within the last three months.  We administer Benadryl whenever we see a red spot on the back of her ear because it is usually followed by swelling in the face.  I am looking for an alternative way to treat her allergies.  She often has red bumps on her sides, belly, vaginal area and inside her legs.  She recently started licking her paws constantly.  I bathe her once a week with EpiSoothe in cold water.  I recently read a posting on this site that spoke of administering a mixture of fix oil, vitamin e and flax seed oil.  I would love to try this but am unaware of the correct amount to give her and wonder if this is a good way to start.  Within the same post, they recommended using garlic powder on the food.  Are there certain foods that would be better for her?  She is a 45 pound english bulldog who will be two in September.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Allison and "Sadie"

ANSWER: Hi Allison and Sadie, What food is she eating?  Also, what you described sounds like an overgrowth of yeast bacteria.  I have some good ideas for you that are low cost and safe.

What foods are you feeding - flavor and brand?
Also, what treats do you give her...

Let me know, OK

QUESTION: She eats IAMS Proactive Health mini chunks and has IAMS treats.  We give her Clavamox in cheese and she loves peanut butter.  Other than that we are pretty strict with no table food.

Answer
ok, we need to make some changes for your girl...
At the bottom I am enclosing the ingredients in your current food/ NOT good at all - too much junk like Corn...
I have some great suggestions for new foods and supplements:
Here goes!

Please go to the pet store and pick up some Innova EVO OR Wellness CORE, the two have just about no fillers at all...
Feed her the old food and the new food x 2 weeks ( 50/50 mix)
After 2 weeks, please go to 100% the new food.

Next, start her on some Acidophilus ( 1 Billion CFUs)- give just one per day - great to help with yeast and her gut health.

For the Allergies, you need NuVET Plus - The BEST Immune system booster in the country. ***Helps to fight off allergies and the allergens that trigger all the symptoms.  The company guarantees to help or they will refund your money.  Read all the testimonies on the NuVET site - only costs about .55 cents per day for the wafer treats... Use this order code / they can't sell to the public without it... 81098
http://www.nuvet.com/81098
Look for NuVET Plus - You will need 2 per day for the first 30 days, then you can go to just 1 per day...
Call Joan tomorrow and she would be glad to help you with the first order... 1-800-474-7044  ext 265 Joan Harris/ tell her Marie sent you from The Doggie Chalet Hotel and All Experts..

After you start this program, I would like an e-mail update from you each week... I like to say on top of my doggie and cat patients.
Please let me know when you have gathered everything..OK
