Question
QUESTION: I have a 2 year old Frenchie female who has major skin problems. I know dogs don't sweat, but she has little-to-no hair under her armpits and in the crotch area and she gets clammy in those areas and gets a rash. She then itches and licks it and it gets worse, with her nipples getting swollen and red. Also, she smells days after you give her a bath. What can I do for her skin problems and stinkiness?
Also, we have a 6 year old pit bull that is pretty stinky and has seasonal allergies. Is there anything you recommend for her?
Thanks!

ANSWER: Hello Cassady -  I loveeeeeee FRENCHIES!!!!!  My favorite....
I would love to help you and your two doggies.
I think I have an idea of what is going on.

Please let me know what food you are feeding both dogs...

QUESTION: The are both currently on Flint River Ranch Trout and Sweet Potato food. If they get treats, it's usually raw veggies, cooked meat, bananas or Flint River Ranch Jubilee Wafers.
Currently we do not give them any oils, vitamins or supplements, but I did order the FLora and Chlorophyll from your site today.

SoJo Grain FREE dog food / home made

ANSWER: Oh, Thanks for the photo of Wrigley....  So cute!

I do see your problem - Yes, an overgrowth of yeast will cause a SMELL and an itch, too.
Very smart of you to have ordered the Flora Force and the Chlorophyll - Good JOB - I would have told you the Flora Force / Probiotic is something the two dogs should be taking for at least a month or more.
The Chlorophyll can be added to the drinking water or hide it in the food.....

NOW - the FOOD is a problem - I would like to see them on a total grain free product /  Here is one that I think would be wonderful for the two of them.... SLOWLY take them off the Flint River Ranch food - This food is somewhat over priced for what you get in nutrition.  I have reviewed the ingredients and find it to be an average food.

Here is what I would refer you to:  HOME COOKING for at least the Frenchie.... or both of them....

The HOME cooking is SOJO - all you do is add fresh or lightly cooked meats - It is like Hamburger Helper for your dog or cat...
I would like you to get the SOJO grain free formula...
mix 1/4 cup of the Flint River with the SoJO amount x 2 weeks.... Slowly weed out the Flint River and go 100% SoJO.
Here is the SoJO link - They will ship right to your door; FREE shipping to any USA address ( continental usa)

http://www.sojos.com/index.aspx?affiliate=petnurse

No risk to try it and they give you a MONEY back guarantee....
Also, you KNOW what you are getting in the food/  Quality and Holistic...

NOW - for your big kid *********

- YOU can also do the SO JO home cooking - Would be wonderful for any dog.....
OR, you can slowly switch over to Wellness Core or Innova EVO
( grain free dog food found at most pet stores)

Grain free is the way to go -  Grains are what can cause allergies and the SMELL - yeast overgrowth.

Slowly take the Big KID off the Flint River - over a 2 week period of time.  Do a 50/50 mix of the old food and the new food.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also, LITTLE Wrigley should take 1 NuVET wafer per day - Skin and Coat healer and Allergy Blaster..... YOUR baby may be prone to Allergies related to FOOD but also the Environment...
Call JOAN tomorrow and ask for a 90 count of the NuVET
90 count is 55.00 and this will last you 3 months...
Both dogs would benefit from the NuVET wafers...
QUESTION: Is there a dry food that I can feed Wrigley? I don't really have the time/money for them to be on the BARF diet, and I'd like them to be on the same food.
Answer
Sure - I understand the time concerns...
Yes, they both can be on the Grain free - Wellness CORE or the Innova EVO -  Just follow the back of the package for feeding amounts. Always feed a little LESS than what the package tells you...
Also, they both should be on the NuVET, if you can swing it...
If not, please get your little Frenchie on the NuVET - one per day...
