Question
I have an 11 week old English Bulldog that is recently overcoming pneumonia (hydoplastic trachea) and is now being looked at for Addison's Disease.  I am giving him garlic powder, vitamin C, and the NuVet powder plus his medications of Benadryl, Prednisone, Torbitul, and Zenniquin.  We have put lemon juice in his water as well that is supposed to help with the mucus and liquid in his lungs.  Should I look into other herbal vitamins for the Addison's disease?

Answer
Hi Lila, This pup is very lucky to have you.  I think that you are doing a great job.
I would wait on more herbs.  How about adding some oil to his food.  PURE Salmon oil at just 1/4 of a teaspoon per day -  After about 1 month, you can go to 1/2 teaspoon per day.
Glad he is on the NuVET-  You may be able to lessen the Bendaryl over time.
Also, your Vet will be able to get the Prednisone down to the lowest possible dosage for a maintenance dosage.

See here for Yummy Chummies - PURE Alaska Salmon oil
You can order here: Safe site ( It's My Little Store)

Keep me posted... Sounds like you and your Vet have everything in order.
Keep up the good work!

Blessings to you,
