Colloidal Silver a pets natural antibiotic

I just started my dog (beagle/doxie mix) on the colloidal silver yesterday.  He has a lung infection (not sure if it is fungus) and the antibiotic prescribed is doing minimal positive results.  It has been one week.  
He does not eat much but will eat eggs.  I make like an omelet with good veggies mixed in.  He will drink water so that is not a concern.  
My question is how long for me to see results from the colloidal silver?  I heard it is pretty quick acting.
