inducing labor

Question
My 5 year old blue heeler is having what seems like an overly long pregnanacy.  Is there a way i can help induce labor?  I'm afraid the pups are going to get too big for her to birth naturally, and i can't afford what the vets charge for a c-section.

Answer
Hi Randy -

I am sorry I can really not help you with this.

There are herbs that are used to induce labor but they are dangerous use without experience and someone with you who can administer the remedy properly.

I know vet bills can be expensive but this is the safest option. I would call your vet and inform them that your pet's labor is overdue and see if they have any mild suggestions for you.

I do apologize but I wouldn't want to tell you something that might endanger your pet and her pups.

Please keep me posted, I would be happy to help you in the future if you would like informaiton on natural and herbal remedies.

Thank you and best wishes to you and your pet.
