Question
I asked a question yesterday about my fish it's a white goldfish with a red spot on his head, he's lost the red, and it looks like something has been eating his fins, I have another one, but he's okay, the answer I got was "fin rot", but what is fin rot and what do I do about it?
Thank you,
Janice

Answer
Hello,

Fin rot is a type of bacteria that causes the fraying and loss of your fishes fins. There are many things you can use to treat this. I would recommend tetracycline or triple sulfa, but if your fish is not eating then I would recommend Maracyn-2. You can move your fish to a hospital tank if you want, but it is not necessary.

I hope this helps.
