Puffer fish (fresh)

Question
If my puffer has internal parasited how do i treat him he's not doing well.
Very skinny and lathargic for about a week now . He had been eating well it seemed now hes hanging under some rocks . Im worried about my little guy.

Hi Kim:  a couple of things... for internal parasites you will need to soak their food in medicine... you can get some at the local aquarium ... just ask for something to treat internal parasites in puffers... be sure to remind them that puffers are scaleless fish... some meds act differently with scaleless fish.... also make sure that your puffers have snails to eat... they need them to help maintain their beak (teeth) puffers have been known to starve to death because their beak has grown closed.... please keep me posted on their progress.... dave
