Question

Stem of the dying plan
Hi Matt,
Suddenly plants in my tank started dying, symptoms are rotten stem.and I also found small snails.please refer the image.
Appreciate if you could help to treat these plants.
Thank you.

Answer
Hi Isuru,
I know a lot of species of freshwater plants in the aquarium hobby but that one in the picture I do not recognize.  If you know the scientific name of the plant, I can be much more of help.  It could be due to lack of lighting or lack of nutrients.  If you give me a few more details about your tank I can be more helpful.  A picture of a plant without the tank information is a hit and miss for me.  You can ask me a follow-up question.

1) How many watts total are your bulbs giving off?
2) What spectrum are your bulbs? (Example. 5000K, 6500K, 6700K)
3) What is the scientific name of the bulb?
4) What substrate/gravel are you using?
