Question
hi, my tank water is sort of green, and there is very little green on the walls and plants. i was reading on a website,( i dont remember what is was) and they suggested that it was that the water simply had too much nutrience in it. all of the test strip readings are as they should be, and no fish seem to be stressed. could this info be true? and if so how do i lower the amount of nutrience? (the water i use is half from a fill station, and half from the tap.)

Answer
Hi Meg,

Algae.  It comes from poop in water.  Let's get that cleaned asap.

Siphon out and clean gravel, wash the tank's walls with a sponge, and then drain all the water and replace it.

Watch the amount of foods being fed.  Change filter media.  The algae is a bad sign in an aquarium.

Happy fish-keeping.
