Chiclids

Hello my name is Sarah we recently bought my daughter 2 african chiclids today I went to feed them and one went crazy swam around the tank hitting the glass over and over and is now dead!!! I need to know what to do she is still in the tank with the other this happened about 10 mins ago! She's now floating on her side near the plants half way down the tank!

Hello Sarah,

I would like to ask you some questions before I can give an answer.  What type of tank is this?  Is it freshwater, or saltwater?  Is it a community tank, or just a cichlid tank?  Do you know the ph of this tank?  The ammonia levels?  Nitrites, and nitrates?  These can all affect a cichlid tremendously.  Please let me know as soon as possible so that I may give you a better answer.  So far, it would seem that they went into shock...have to find out why they went into shock.  Hope to hear from you soon.
