Question
hey i have 2 jack dem and add a crowfish to my tank i have a 55 gallon tank now i have notice tiny mircoscopice tings junpo at the light when i feed my fish what can this be

Answer
Hi Heidi;

They are just harmless little bugs. They feed on algae and organic nutrients that build up on the underside of the aquarium cover and at the water's edge. Especially in warmer weather. I've had many such things on the surface of my tanks and they don't cause any harm. Just weird. It helps to remove as much slimy stuff and algae from the underside of the cover as you can. I use dry paper towels and wipe every day for a few days. Their numbers will slowly decrease usually as you remove their food source.
