Question
recently my pair of jewel cichlids killed a tuxedo cichlid[as told by pet shop] when i asked the owner said that it was because there were no hiding places in my aquarium is that true
i am thinking about adding green terrors and severums in my 23 gallon tank what shold i do
should i increase the hiding places so that they live peacefully
can i use marble for making them

Answer
Hi Sumneet

Yes, it is true that most fish need hiding places. This is especially true with more aggressive Cichlids. A Cichlid tank should have many rock formations and caves. Large logs with tunnels also work well with smaller Cichlids.

However, your tank is too small for a Cichlid tank. You simply don't have room for any other fish with the Jewels. In order to add Green Terrors and Severums, you'd need at least a 65 gallon tank.

Hope this helps, good luck!
