Question
My tank is murky how do i keep the merk out change the filter every week ....... now i got a bala shark that is about to die he is floating on his back with white stuff floating off his skin like a film .. what to do ???

Answer
Hello,

Merky water can be caused by too much bacteria, bad things in the water or even floating algae. It really depends what the water looks like. Greenish merk means algae, whereas whitish is too much bacteria. Floating algae means you need to control the amount of light hitting your aquarium. Any kind of murkiness is usually fueled by excess waste. You should begin changing 15% of your water per day. You should also syphon your gravel once per week and reduce the amounts you are feeding your fish.

Your fish's illness may be caused by the poor water quality. You should add aquarium salt to the water to help its slime coat, and help it to recover from its illness.

I hope this helps.
