community fish mortality rate

We purchased a brand new ten gallon aquarium about four mos ago, incl all of the gear. We purchased about 6 smaller community fish and one small frog.  So far, 3 of the fish have died. I don't like seeing the fish die. What is the mortality rate of community fish. Is this common to lose three of them in under six mos?  The frog and the other three fish seem perfectly fine(one even had a baby).

Hi Linda:  I do not think that there is a mortality rate that is readily available.  I would start by getting the water in the tank tested at the local fish store. Can you tell me a bit more about the fish that died... what did they look like... what did they act like...etc... dave
