Question
Hi, I have a small fish bowl-about 2 gallons.  I was told at store bag with fish shouldn't be passed over laser scanner as fish would probably die from effects.  I keep the bowl next to our TV and fish die within a week or 2--have tried Beta, goldfish, guppies, and tiger barbs with no success. Could there be something in the TV or remote control beam killing them?
Thanks, Mary

Answer
Mary,
I don;t think the scanner or the Tv is the cause of your trouble.
Stay with betas or goldfish.
Do you dechlor your water?
easy way is to let it stand overnight to come to room temp and allow chlor. to dissapate.
Also, have your pet shop check the PH of your water against theirs and see if you are within limits.
You can move the location of the bowl if you wish, it wont hurt anything.
If all else fails, try a different shop, may be the fish themselves.
Be careful not to let food build up in the bowl and change water regularly.\
good luck.
