Question
I have a female oscar that was attacked by the algae eater in their tank. She is missing patches of scales on both her sides and is acting a little listless not eating today.
She is usually very perky when I walk by her tank but she seems to be hiding a bit towards the back of the tank. I removed my algae eater and added extra slime coat to the tank. Do you think she'll die from the attack? She is small the size of a silver dollar or so.

Answer
hi and thanks for the question.....

GOOD NEWS!!!! it is highly unlikely she will die. however i would reccommend adding aquarium salt at a rate of one teaspoonful per gal to the water.  also might want to consider adding an apple snail to the tank.  additionally i would be sure to change 1/3 of the water weekly and  use a canister filter for filtration.  be sure to use both carbon and zeolite in the filter.  let me know how it turns out.  i hope my advice helps

good luck
