My beta fish

Question
I have worked with fish a lot before but I have never had to worry about
feeding them when i was on vacation before. I got a new Beta fish just a little
while ago since I left my other fish wih my family. I don't want to transport
him all the way home I feel like there is a better solution like an automatic
feeder or some type of vacation feeder, but I have never worked with anything
like that. I was looking and I am worried about over or under feeding my beta.
Do you know of any good feeding methods for a beta while on vacation or
leaving for extended time

Thank You
Kelly

Answer
Hello,

Dissolving feeder blocks or automatic electric feeders are both the best, and only, ways to go- unless you can find a fish sitter. Bettas don't eat very much, so don't worry about underfeeding them. Usually the feeder blocks and automatic feeders are well timed and very effective so that your fish recieves the amount of food that it needs for the time that you are gone. In fact, I believe you can get betta-specific feeder blocks which have the appropriate kind and amount of food for your betta.

I hope this helps.

Stephanie
