I've sent you an email. Hope you got it.

QUESTION: Well I need the interview by tommorow, so here are my questions again...

1. Where (in the fish) does ammonia come from?
2. How big or small should a tank be to sustain fish?
3. Do Goldfish have any odd habits they do?
4. Do they perfer being outside or inside (or do they not care)?

Thank you for your time and contact me when you have finished your answers!

Answer
Hayden,
I'm so sorry. I know I must be horrifically late with these answers.

My email has had trouble working and I can't even read my messages. Gosh I feel so bad. :(:(

I don't know if it matters now. :( but here are my answers...

1.) Ammonia comes from fish waste/urine of course but the gills excrete it also. The gills function as a form of waste removal as well and in some fish, their gills are responsible for almost over 70% of the ammonia they produce!

2.) Tank size depends upon the fishes size, temperament, activity level, social behavior and bioload. Ideally a fish tank should be about 4 times the length of the eventual adult size of the fish.

3.) Goldfish routinely sift around in their substrate looking for morsels of food. They often take individual rocks in their mouths and roll them around to clean algae and other food bits off before spitting them back out again.  Goldfish can and have been trained to do simple tricks as well.

4.) Almost any fish would appreciate being outside with the sunshine, natural daylight cycles and the wild food like mosquitoes and other insect larvae they'd have access too. Many fish grow larger, spawn more, and have brighter colors when kept outdoors compared to indoors.

I know this is too late. Again, I feel so bad I know I have let you down. Trust me I would have gotten this to you a heck of a lot sooner had my email been working better and such.

I hope it all went well for you regardless!
Take care,
Karen~
