Question
QUESTION: it's me travis again the molly looks like it's trying to hide but the male is following it what does that mean

ANSWER: Travis,
I would suggest buying a breeding net. Make sure it is the plastic on that has a groove at the bottom. This will attach to the inside of the main tank. Put the female in it once it looks like she is ready to go. She will have the babies, and they will fall to the bottom [art of the breeding net, keeping them away from her. Once she is done, remove her, and keep the fry inside the breeder until they are big enough to go into the main tank.

QUESTION: when i look in the tank she has dug a hole where she is hidden and i don't know what it means does it mean she is going to have her fry there

ANSWER: Yes, if she has made a hole, then chances are she is getting ready to have them. As I stated before, make sure there are a lot of hiding places for the fry to hide if you are keeping her in the main tank.

QUESTION: my molly is steel pregnant and my male keeps following her? how would a separater do for the fry? how many can i keep in a 10 gallon tank and a good filter? just to make sure i am going to seen a pic of her to make sure she is steel pregnant

Answer
It is common for the male to follow her. If she is going to have the fry, she will make sure he is nowhere near her. If you do not either separate the female, or the other fish,, the fry will get eaten by everyone. You can try what is called a breeding net. They come in either all plastic or one with netting material around it. I recommend the plastic one because it separates the fry from the mother. Once she is done, you remove her and the bottom patrician and the fry will be in their own little tank. You can keep all the fry in the 10 gallon tank, but make sure you set the tank through the cycle process before you put the fry in. This can take 6 weeks and sometimes longer. Look for her gravid spot and see if it is small or large. A lot of the time, it will get larger as she progresses through the pregnancy. Since she is a light color, you should be able to see the black spots of the fry's eyes.
