1st timer needs HELP

I just recently purchased a 55 gal tank for fresh water fish, I need your advise because now fish seem to be sick or dying slowly? I think my fish has ich and I am not sure what to do? PLEASE HELP........

First of all, is your tank cycled? The high ammonia levels in a newly set-up tank are harmful to fish. It will cause them ammonia poisoning. Ammonia is then converted to nitrite and then to nitrate. To cycle your tank you must do daily water changes of about 30%. Your tank will take 4-6 weeks to cycle. To treat the white spot use aquarium salt. Raise the temp a few degrees as this speeds up the life process of the ich.
