Question
help.. just started setting up a new aquarium.. so far so good.. but i really needed to do a partial water change to my 20 gallon tank.. so i replace with 2 gallon (could still use another 2 g.) my problem is i misread label of water conditioner(aquasafe,if it matter's) i put in 2 tsp conditioner to the 2 gallon of water... very bad..was suppose to put 1 tsp per 10 gallon.. will i loose all my fishes?... corys, rosy barb,betta,platy... will adding another 2 gallon of water without water conditioner help any?

Answer
Hi Tina
I don't know how long the water conditioner is considered "active" once you put it in.  I've never read anything on that before.  If it's still fairly close to the time you added it, go ahead and do the extra water change and don't add the dechlorinator.  I know the product I use, Prime, says that if there's excessive chlorine or chloramine or high nitrates, you can double the doseage.  I know I've added extra dechlorinator in before, especially when I first got my Python syphon.  I forgot I had already added the dechlorinator, and added some more in....I think you'll be alright.  Just keep an eye on the fish.

Hope that helps!!
