hi, hope you can help. ive got a pair of discus which have fry feeding of therv bodies then they will eat the fry and lay eggs again, they even had baby fry 12 days old feeding off them while they were tending to there new batch of wrigglers . the wrigglers are due to be free swimming tomorrow and they have ate the 12 day old fry that they had feeding of there sides.hgow can i stop them eating there fry and wanting to spawn again ( do you think that if i took the spawning cone out they would keep fry instead ?

Sorry to hear about the trouble...
It's very common to run into problems when spawning discus. It's always a trial and error thing and often things will not turn out right.

I don't think there's much you can do about the discus eating their current brood and wanting to lay eggs again. Probably the best and only option for you to try is to remove the babies after 10-14 days. You can use a siphon tube to siphon the fry out into their own rearing tank equipped with a sponge filter and heater. Your Discus pair may need to make several spawning attempts before they get it right. But for now, I think removing the fry may be best method for you.

You could always experiment with taking the spawning cone out but your Discus pair may just decide to spawn somewhere else, like on the tank glass or the heater. A little experimenting and trial and error usually has to occur before you get things right with discus.
