Question
Hello,
I curently was given a betta I don't know anything about fish period. I have been able to research and manage so far. My husband bought me a 28 gallon tank to which i added the stress-zyme and its now cycling without fish. Now the original Betta I have is sitting in a little one gallon tank and today I found out that you have to regulate the temperatures with the Bettas and give them a much bigger tank. Now I've just spent alot of money on th 28 gallon tank and am not looking forward to spendng moe on a seperate tank for the Betta so heres my question. What kind of fish can I put with the Betta so I can transfer the Betta to my 28 gallon tank without it having issues with other fish. I havent bought any other fish yet. Also we have this tank mainly for our two year old so I really don't want a war going on in the tank. Or should I play it safe and just put up the extra money for a seperate Betta tank. Thanks

Answer
Hello, its best to leave the betta alone. Betta's are very aggresive, and it might attack the other fish. A betta does okay in a small tank, and there isn't really a need to have it a big tank all alone. You could try putting other fish with the betta, but you will get flaring, and soon an attack. Play it safe, and a 5 gallon tank is perfect for a betta. Even a 1 gallon tank. Betta's do not need big tanks, and that is why you see most in small ones. There is also really no need to regulate temperatures, at least at 70-75 degrees is perfect for a betta, and should be kept there. I hope this helps you.
