Questionhello, i have a golden oranda that hovers near the surface in the same corner of the thank. It lives in a 45 gallon tank with 13 other goldfish (5 common, 2 comets, 6 orandas). The nitrate and pH levels are fine. Even if other fish go and play in the tank, it will stay by itself in the corner. When i move my hand over she/he, she swims away then swims back. She is a very slow swimmer.
AnswerHi Hannah!
Well fish surface to the water sometimes to get more oxygen. The oxygen levels are at the top are higher which is probably why it was surfacing. Try getting an air pump. That should probably solve it. If it doesn't, please follow-up.
Hope that helps!
