Answer
Dear John, please let me first apologize for getting to you so late. It was not of my intention but this website has been down for hours.

Sorry to hear about your Angelfish. :( Popeye is not actually a disease in itself but either a symptom of a number of underlying causes. Perhaps in particular, Bacterial.
Sometimes treatment can be difficult as it's hard to determin the underlying cause of the infection but it is highly recommended to treat the poor fish with an antibiotic. MARDEL is an excellent brand you should be able to find at your local petstore. Maracyn 1 and Maracyn 2 made by Mardel and used together can help. Always insure a warm temperature and very clean water, especially during his/her treatment.

I would like to get this through to you as soon as possible so for an even better understanding of popeye and it's causes--please look into-

Thank you for your patience, I have a great love for angelfish and feel free to let me know how he/she is doing if you don't mind and let me know of anymore questions or concerns you may have.

Best wishes,
Karen~
