Green Terrors, Tetras

Question
Hello Karen,
i have already told you about my Green Terror, he still seemes scared he isabout 3 to 4 inches long. Why is that so? I do not have any Tin Foil Barbs but i had a pair of adult Insiringent sharks or something you call it[here it is give the name of Tiger Shark or Cat Shark :()] But still the terror is too scared. I have tried feeding him live and frozen food but he does not come up.
Yesterday my venus cichlid died after a series of Jaw Locking with a jewel Cichlid. I tried removing both o them once they started fighting but they go and hide into the caves and pots. The jewel is getting really aggressive and he is now with a Flower horn(thank fully they get on fine)I am searching for a place to house the Jewel because the flower horn may not be so peaceful for a long time.
What are the best tanmates for Jewels? Do serpae and neon tetras do well with Gauramis? Since the native place of Gauramis are in India i can even go to the Stream in the outskirts of my city and get a couple easily. I want to have Red  Honey and Neon Gauramis with the tetras.

(Do you know Stone Cold Steve Austin in Texas :):|)

Answer
Hi Srinivas,
Well, have you tried dither fish yet? You didn't mention if you had or not... But I think this seems to be the best solution for your shy Cichlid... Unless you've already tried it.

I'm sorry to hear about your Venustus cichlid.. Sometimes cichlids can be brutal, that is only because in an aquarium, there is really very little room for fish to establish territory compared in the wild as you know, since there is nearly endless space and true-deadly fights are very rare.

Jewel Cichlids in general, do well with most other large cichlids from north, central, and south american cichlids. They can easily stand up to Oscars twice their size. Although rift lake cichlids and Mbunas are often no match to Jewels. Most armored catfish can live with them, with caution of course. Raphael catfish should do well.

And yes, Serpae tetras, neons, and gouramis should live quite well together. Provided the neons aren't too small, the Serpaes are in a large enough group (to prevent most chances of fin nipping) they should get along peacefully.
You're very lucky you can collect your own gouramis!!!

Wish you the best with your fishkeeping!
Karen~
ps: Sorry, I am not sure what the stone cold steve austin is! I've never heard of it...sorry.
