Water Poisened.

Hi,
Thanks for offer of help.  I have recently bought my first Aquarium (70ltrs).  Unfortunately, since I'm new to the hobby, I put some nice pebbles in that someone gave me from the sea.  Luckily no fish in at the moment but tested water and it's not suitable after 2 weeks..taken pebbles out (larger ones).. maybe still some small ones in there.  Please advise on quickest treatment.. I have performed a couple of 25% water changes already.

Unfortunately there is no quick way to deal with this. My advice would be to completely empty your aquarium, take out all rocks and remove any that came from the sea, clean the others which should be bought labelled specifically for a fish tank. Clean out the inside of your aquarium, add all the good rock, add water and start again. Let the water rest for at least the usual 24 hours, but test it after this time. If the nitrite is high, add something like Cycle but this can be natural for new tanks. If the water is not good after these 24 hours, add products accordingly and leave for another 24.
